CLOTHING: Select outfits you like and colors that look best on you. Broad stripes and bold patterns tend to place emphasis on clothing and not on you. Very bright colors really stand out and will sometimes lighten or darken flesh tones. Use a variety of looks, such as dressy, casual, winter or summer, to add a diverse look to your senior session. HELPFUL HINTS: Avoid sleeveless/very short sleeves. Solid colors photograph best. Bring all the accessories for the complete look: tie, shoes, belt, hat, etc.
HAIR: Wear hairstyles you normally wear. Perms need to be done about two to three weeks before your session. It usually isn't a good idea to try a completely different cut or hairstyle just before your session.
MAKEUP: Just like your hair, wear your makeup as you normally do. Lip gloss can enhance or cover dry lips (crucial for those close ups!) A little cover stick or concealer on blemishes or on dark under eye circles can improve the look of your previews. Use powder to tone down shiny areas.
GLASSES: Lenses distort the size and shape of your eyes and face. Also, our lights may reflect into your lenses. We recommend that you borrow a blank pair of frames from your eye doctor. Eyeglass reflections cannot be removed from the finished portrait.
LADIES: To show off your nails, make certain your manicure is complete!
GUYS: To avoid five o'clock shadows, be sure to shave closely!
SUNTANS: Keep your tan even and not too dark. Darker tans tend to look orange in photographs and less attractive than a more subtle glow. Tan lines and strap marks cannot be retouched on portraits, so don't over do the rays!
